Logic Controls KB3000 - Need a Windows Driver?
« on: Fri, 30 May 2014, 16:15:20 »
I can usually resist the temptation to cart home really weird keyboards, but this behemoth intrigues me.

It is all metal (I have not opened it up, yet, at least) and is monstrously heavy. It seems clean and intact. I booted it up using the PS/2 connection, and it seems to be alive (the keys give a little chirp when depressed) but Aqua Key Test does not recognize them.

Who knows anything about these, and where I might find a driver?

I see them selling on ebay in the $200+ range, so I assume that they are currently viable, but I really want to be able to test it, whether or not I decide to sell it.

Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

there's a good chance that one of those DIN connectors is for power. I have a large all metal keyboard (pinnacle DeKO) with almost the same connectors where one is used to power the KB. I believe it exhibited similar behavior when just PS/2 was connected.

Then again, it might need a driver. Only about 103 of the switches work with my ID innovations multimode usb adapter, the rest don't seem to send anything usable.

You can test this with a soarer and HID listen (to see what you're getting out of that PS/2 connection). This is my next plan to get all those awesome switches working.

This thing is monumentally Bad-Ass, but I cannot seem to find the driver. Many sites have the user manual, but where do I find a Windows driver?

With a PS/2 via Soarer I get R05 with every key press.

That is just some sort of general error, isn't it?

How do I hook up a DIN plug to give it power?

Why is this so hard?

The PS/2 connection seems to be acceptable, the documentation calls it the standard. I really think that I just need a driver, but I can't seem to find one anywhere.

I would never trust those all-in-one "let us scan your hardware and tell you what drivers you need" downloads to be junk-free.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks, but been there. Seems to work but at the end of the install tells you that the file is missing and contact the manufacturer.

Could always connect the serial port, just to see if that does anything.

If I had a cable. And I am not sure that my motherboard has a connection, either.

Somebody make me an offer on this thing.

I feel sure that it works, every key beeps when pressed, it must be a driver problem (ie I don't have a driver).

Do I hear $40-50 shipped domestic US? It is way heavier than my F-122, but will fit in a game board box.
