G80-3000 Advice

I've had my cherry g80 with blues for about 4 months now and I'm loving it. However I have noticed that it lacks a metal plate and it seems to give ever so slightly when I'm typing on it. I'm just curious as to how I would go about getting some form of reinforcement for it. I have tried a strong, flat piece of plastic under the pcb but this just caused the pcb to rattle and tilt whilst typing and made the blues even louder.

You could try using some pond liner under the PCB.
This mod is usually meant to reduce the resonance of sound and make your board quieter, but I guess it could also work for this as well.

Tried this out. It works quite well, the noise of the blues is much less noticeable now. My family may be able to sleep undisturbed by the clackyclack. Thanks!

You could also put some stronger support under the pond liner to improve the feel. The newer G80-3000 boards have very flexible PCB's and can certainly do with some support.

In terms of mods, have you considered opening the switches and swapping out the stems and springs to make some 62g ErgoClears? They're my favourite MX switches, just a little stronger than Blues, but very tactile and quieter. Being a PCB mount board you don't have to desolder anything to do switch mods

short of having a real plate ontop of the PCB, this is the next best thing for any of the g80 boards to make them stiffer and heavier
