Full Metal Poker II
« on: Mon, 08 December 2014, 11:44:41 »
Full Album Here! ->http://imgur.com/a/xK2Uv

After over 6 months of tracking down all of the pieces I have finally completed this board! I was going for a full metal theme, and I think the final result was well worth it.

Parts list:
-Poker II MX Clears, modded to Cherry MX Green Switches.
-Satin Nickle Painted Plate.
-Uniform color white LEDs.
-Blank Zinc keycaps with an Aluminum spacebar.
-TEX Silver Low Profile Case.
-Pexon Matte Silver Sleeved Cable.
-QWER Grey 60% Keyboard Bag.

Other tidbits:
-The keyboard weighs 2.36lb / 1.07kg, minus the case and cable.
-The Blank Zinc keycaps were by far the hardest part to track down, as the last group buy for them was over 2 years ago.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, that looks pretty impressive. Always nice to see a build come together like that.

Nice!  My only criticism is that the spacebar isn't flipped.    :D

WIth a keyboard like that, I don't think you will really want to sell your keycaps, will you?

But then again, I don't think that Poker is going anywhere. It can't be 1kg with the keycaps...

I really didn't want to, but I did find a buyer for the caps. And yes, it was very heavy; it barely ever moved.

That... is actually really impressive.  Some of those photos look like a render.  It's so... pure.

I am curious to know if you modded the switches to greens because the weight of the caps made other switches too light? I always figured metal caps would just be too heavy for each individual switch.

My zinc caps are on reds. Very very light. Most would say too light but to me, it's a dream to type on.
