Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Owned by user Ellipse. It's been posted before.

Industrial SSK. Grey colour. More rare. People like the colour more. Supply and demand -> Higher price.

Caps are that way since that particular one was taken from a Mopar Diagnostic System.

Yeah, if I had that much disposable income :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

That is a sweet looking board, considering the all original colors. I'm sure some soul will eventually reach an agreement.

Yep,  I am trimming my IBM collection and have this ISSK up for sale.   It is available off eBay for $900 plus shipping if anyone is interested,  as long as there are no bids placed on eBay.   A non customized ISSK sold for $821 on eBay last night,  so this one is at a slight premium to that unit.

Gotta say, I'm consistently amazed by the boards that Ellipse has. Shame they're all far out of my price range.

For some reason, the SSKs strikes me as another Cherry Red Esc situation.  They were rare and highly coveted, until GMK started making them and the market fell out.  It was a dark time at Geekhack, because insiders knew about it and cashed out just before the crash.  In this case, if Unicomp ever follows through and makes a space saver, it will shake up the market big time.  The old PS/2 boards would look a lot less attractive.  Perhaps the ISSK will remain expensive due to rarity, but it would probably be affected somehow.

Unicomp will never, ever change the vintage market unless they make an SSK that looks identical to the original.

But if they ever actually did, they could make them in any color (including Industrial), native USB, with Windows keys!
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”
