Need Someone To Assemble My Custom
« on: Wed, 04 February 2015, 10:00:23 »
I'm getting a Duck Octagon (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=65036.0) soon and need someone in Europe to assemble it for me. Preferably someone in Europe who has a lot of experience with consistent lubing and can do a consistent trampoline mod. I'm not in a rush so I don't mind waiting a few months if need be.

Under the market place section go to artisan services. That's where all the guys who solder as a service are.

Oh I forgot to mention, the only European person I could find there was Margo but it seems he isn't taking on customs for the foreseeable future.

I think you should had at least EUROPE to your title.
GH tends to be 80% americans, so if you don't find someone here, maybe go to deskthority.net.

If you are serious, then you could also put your country in your profile so that it is shown underneath your user picture.

i remember reading somewhere that rubber degrades over time, so if you're applying the trampoline mod you'll need to replace your o-rings once a year or so

Trampoline mod uses silicone balls inside the switches, not orings. And they last a long, long, long time. Also, most rubbers used for orings last a lot longer than a year... They slowly lose oils and dry out and toughen / become more brittle, but there are some VERY old rubber dome boards still functional. Also, Topre switches use rubber domes and they last, well.... very long.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

I'd prefer Europe, but I'm not opposed to sending it to America. Looks like I might have to with the replies here :(.

You'll definitely be able to find someone on deskthority to assemble it. The user base there is pretty much entirely European

I've got it now, but I got even less activity on Deskthority. Seems like I'll have to ship it to America.
