Omnikey 101 with correct Ctrl/Caps Lock keycaps

From what I understand these originally came with 2 sets of ctrl/caps lock caps, and maybe had a dipswitch setting to swap the functions of the keys? Anyway, on used boards you usually don’t get any extra caps, and 1.75u home row Tai Hao doubleshot ctrl keycaps are pretty hard to find.

Also, $50 + shipping is a great price.

Looks like the A switch needs to be replaced, but many potential buyers probably want to replace all the rest of the switches anyway, so...

Well it says the A key doesn't click, nit that it doesn't work. Reclicking Alps can be done by just bending the leaf spring outwards a little - that's how I reclicked my 5162, works a treat. Nice price though, not surprised people dove on it :P .

There are a couple more in less nice condition for a little bit more money that have been languishing for a couple of weeks.

A year or 2 ago, many weeks would go by between seeing one of these listed.

afaik it either depends on the northgate in question and some of them came with dvorak caps and capability (5k177 / djdmatic had some NOS a few years back) This indicates that they could either be ordered with different kinds of functionality and keycaps.

Anyway, this was a great find.

I just got a gold label OmniKey/102 from a friend's demolition site. I can't seem to get the keycaps off, but they click incredibly loudly. Is that proof that it's the blue one?

Most gold labels are, from what I've heard. Would be amazing though, just about my dream keyboard that is :D .

White Alps actually clicks louder than blue Alps. I recommend using a pair of butter knives to pull a cap off. Just slide the blades under opposite sides of the keycap and gently pry upward.

Invest in a keycap puller (or 2, for the larger keys):

http://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboards-Inc-Keycap-Puller/dp/B00M9ETHYU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1425997196&sr=8-2&keywords=keycap+puller

If you end up spending any reasonable amount of time on GH you will likely need these sooner or later.

Also I have a keyboard with blue alps and the click is fairly soft, so I'm not sure what type of switch you have.  I think my MX blues even click louder than my blue alps.

Is this an acceptable puller? I simply must use my Prime.
I now own a TECK 209 (Brown), an Omni Key/102 Gold, and a partially assembled home 3D printed keyboard I designed (MX Blue with a Brown spacebar), so I definitely need a key puller soon.
