USPS Postage Increase
« on: Sun, 31 May 2015, 19:51:26 »
Just a FYI - as of today USPS raised its prices across the board.  First class package rates increased about 5% which is significant.

Go easy on those US folks sending you stuff, it has been creeping up in price every year.

Gee, I wonder how that's going to affect the GH60 buy...

Who am I kidding, it won't because we'll never see anything from that.

The cheapest you can send a parcel to Europe from Canada is $7.50 and that's for a flat parcel (<2cm) within normal envelope dimensions.

Good to know about the price. Still cheaper than the other direction.

It seems like along with the price increase service has slowed.

Has anyone else noticed USPS being terribly slow lately? Things CONUS that used to take 2 or 3 days are now taking a week or longer.

Yup. I sent a board out Priority Mail 2-Day two weeks ago that went into a tracking abyss for 3-4 days.

Ended up being a Priority Mail 6-Day shipment.

I find it's contingent upon origin and destination post office.  I have one that's awesome and another local post takes forever.

It is weird. The big letters say "Second Day Delivery" but the small print says "2-3 days"

Still, I have had packages take several days to go a couple of states away, yet had a keyboard delivered from Atlanta to Alaska in less than 72 hours from when I handed it across the desk at the PO until it was posted as "Delivered".
