Crazy night /storms
« on: Mon, 13 July 2015, 08:15:57 »
Here is what my neighborhood looks like this morning.

Some neighbors have trees in their living rooms this morning.  Fortunately, I just have a completely wrecked yard!  :)

(Power has been out since 3am)

Wow. That is pretty intense. We had a storm like that a few years back, and the power was out for 5 days, some people were as long as two weeks, and I live in a pretty urban area. I hope you get your power back soon and the city helps with the tree clean up. Thank goodness there was no damage to your house.

Damn that looks terrible and that sucks about your neighbors' houses. Glad to hear your house made it through though.

Yikes!

Pictures like that make me happy that you are not hosting the GH server at your house.

Glad you're ok :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

A yearly occurrence here, but not where you are.  That sucks, and I feel for you.  Have fun with the landscaping.  I would avoid ornamental pears though.

Ouch!

We had one of those about 6-8 years ago. It took over $3K to get the trees out of my yard.

After months of wrangling, however, I did get a new roof out of it from State Farm.

So this is the storm that hit my parent's city (near Milwaukee).      Looks like we got lucky further north, but we had our share of tornadoes two years ago with similar results.  :|

Hopefully there isn't too much damage and you can get it cleaned up relatively quick.

Crazy!  We had some bad winds and hail up here in Eau Claire, but thankfully no downed trees by my house.
