Massdrop keyboard kits?

Where are the massdrop keyboard kits?

It's seems like forever between keyboard kit drops.

What is the hold up?

Question unclear, go ask on massdrop maybe?

Probably the quickest way to get a keyboard kit up on massdrop is to run an IC here and make it really popular, then massdrop will see it and make one almost just like it but not quite as good.

Agreed. This is the quickest way, most likely.

I like how they always capitalize the C in "Community" like it's meaningful to them.

If they're going to do that they should end it with a circle R.

Massdrop seems to do the group buys for keyboard before they have a ready-to-go product.   Then they work out the kinks and finalize the product after they receive all the payments from everybody.  Or at least that's the way it seems to me.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

Or you know, not at all...

Where are the massdrop keyboard kits?

It's seems like forever between keyboard kit drops.

What is the hold up?

Elementos was up, but got taken down because the child packs and pricing were ****ed up. Troubled minds should be going up soon, and I think there might be another set or two set to go up. Right now SP is really backed up, and GMK isn't much better.

Sorry... I mean kits... not keycap sets.

IE: Ergodox, Infinity, etc.

I would really like to build a third ergodox but sourcing my own parts came out to about $300 (the case being one of the most expensive parts). It would be nice to get a group buy even if its just to reduce the price of the case.

Switches + PCB + teensy + other electronic components are about $120 all together.
PMK blank keycaps add about $60 after shipping.
Case adds like $75-$100

I was under the assumption that the massdrop kit was like $200 with some fluctuation with options.

What cases are you looking at? I can't imagine shipping will be that expensive for this: http://falbatech.pl/prestashop/index.php?id_category=18&controller=category&id_lang=2

buy caps from classifieds, shouldn't be more than like $40.

Get the electronics from falbatech while you're at it, and get Gateron switches off Classifieds for $0.25/switch.
