So, I recently bought an SP crap bag from one of the other users on this forum.
Never had a crap bag, so I figured I would get it when I could! Anyway, after having it for a few days, I was going through it today and found a very cool cap (note: I had already fixed the cap when I took this picture.):
Unfortunately, it had this issue:
As you can see, the stem was too big!!! Anyway, I attempted to put it on a switch, but that wasn't working at all, since the stem was simply way too thick. As such, I got out my jeweler's (a.k.a small) filing kit:
So, once I had those out, I proceeded to file the stem down (starting is the worst part, once you get the muscle memory down, it's not so bad):
The file is not in the position that I was filing in that photo, that's just how it ended up on my hand
One side done:
Second side done:
Bonus shot of the amount of dust that filing one side creates(!):
And here it is once I cleaned the inside of the cap:
It almost looks like the ABS powder dissolved into the alcohol on the cotton swab - does anyone know if that's a thing?
So the first picture is the finished product, but here it is again!
Hopefully all of those turned out the right way around. Geekhack has been in the habit of rotating my photos lately. If they are upside down, I also have the photos hosted on imgur, so I'll link that if necessary!
This cap will eventually end up on a Planck with a unicorn puke, single row profile SA set
(aka all of the caps will be at the same 0 degree incline, but they are of the SA profile, I believe, unless I've seriously missed something!)
