I don't think any website makes note of board/switches etc but I recommend 10fastfingers like everybody else will.

Hey, I actually don't recommend 10fastfingers.

It's important to consider, what kind of text you're typing, how the app deals with typos, what stats are calculated in the end, and what the user interface is like.

If there's anything I do recommend, it's Amphetype, because it lets you retype any kind of text you like, has all the advantages of an open-source multiplatform desktop app, keeps a lot of stats and allows generation of new texts based on past typos (or less fluid typing).

I just meant a comment field to enter some infos for myself (e.g. still trying out different switches - so for comparison)

Will look into thosetomorrow

if english is not your native language
if you want to type most commonly used english words
if you don't want to bother reading complicated english words (typeracer or any other rice-ing website)
if you just want to view your average typing speed

Knowing your typing speed can be useful when learning a new layout or learning to touch type.
IMHO you should not chase high numbers (above 120), rather focus on getting a more ergonomic layout (like Colemak Mod DH angle mod), and push a constant 70-90 wpm...

if you want a challenge:  http://www.goodtyping.com/test.php

It's cool in that you don't have to press backspace when you make an error since you won't move on until you type the correct letter.

also, another good one is: typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php         , throws lots of different characters at you
