best topre keyboard for Linux and colemak

Hi my model M died just recently, and I was thinking of replacing it with a HHKB, but I then read this http://xahlee.info/kbd/idiocy_of_happy_hacking_keyboard.html and a lot of the points made sense to me. I have the money get a really cool keyboard right now, and would love to get a topre board. I'm not sure which one would be right for me though, and if I'm going to drop 200 plus dollars I want it to be perfect. I mostly use Linux, and I'm always in the terminal and using emacs, plus I type with colemak instead of qwerty. If anyone could give me a few suggestions or share their experiences with the HHKB or any other topre keyboard it would help out a lot.

It's not for everyone. Just get a Realforce.
But considering all the praise the HHKB gets, the complaints are very, very minimal.

All i can say is having used Cherry MX for years i fell in love instantly with 55G Realforce.

Well I think I will probably go for the Realforce 87U Tenkeyless 55g, once I can find one. My model m was my first mechanic keyboard any thoughts on what I'm in for switching to a topre board?

I also find it funny they don't mention that you can swap delete and backspace, and that their reasoning for needing arrow keys is to play Pacman on a Google Doodle.

does it have DEDICATED F keys? no, it doesn't. it's in the fn layer for the number keys. dude needs to learn to use his words.

Xah Lee is correct in a way, if you look around for [his] other articles, e.g., on history of Emacs bindings. HHKB is designed for a software environment entirely different from modern systems. If you use just a terminal emulator and Emacs, as they were intended, HHKB might be fine to a certain extent.

The point is, you can do much better than ANSI HHKB or direct Model-M clone. JIS HHKB is one possible step in that direction.
