$710, reserve not yet met. Of course they're worth way more, but why not start them off at a reasonable price and ****off the reserve?

Of course they're worth way more, but why not start them off at a reasonable price and ****off the reserve?Because the seller wanted to pay ebay the additional reserve fee.Ebay tries to tell gullible sellers that it is better to start everything at $0.99 to "get the juices flowing" but they really just want buyers to maybe snag a deal so that they will come back for more.
What's the additional fee? $2? I can see the reasoning behind wanted to see what the public bids will go up to instead of putting a BIN with BO or auction with high starting price.Maybe the reserve is insanely high and the seller is just testing the waters.

That is what "real" auctions always do.Ebay propaganda is always biased in favor of buyers, and getting people inflamed in bidding wars is good marketing for the future.
