I need help, I don't have the knowledge to make a PCB.
« on: Sat, 14 May 2016, 19:24:23 »
I'm trying to create a custom keyboard that can have its PCB as freeware for anyone who wants to make it as well, the issue is that I have no idea how to create the PCB as I don't have the proper programs or knowledge to make it. I've tried the Clueboard Kalerator program but it does not work on free EAGLE software and is known to be buggy on even paid software.

Is there anyone with the knowledge, or even willing to help create a PCB blueprint that I can upload to a company and have made?

This is the keyboard : http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/gists/c7dce418c8d8dd65e18dcb238d1d297e

Also I am extremely new to Geekhack so, Hi!

hey dude, just wanted to throw in my very minimal and uneducated experience. your layout is so close to a b mini from winkeyless that yoiu will probably spend 25 x the amount of time and 3x the cost to make yours, compared to a b mini layout. which would take like 2 weeks from project start to finish as well!

Welcome, Bonk_Donk.  I'm not sure if you fully realize what you're asking for here.  Creating a functioning PCB is a lot of work.  You might be better off hand-wiring that layout to a Teensy, to be honest.  You can use Swill's plate builder to get started -- have a plate cut in acrylic or another inexpensive material so you can test it out.

It exists for Cherry MX DSA (http://pimpmykeyboard.com/dsa-spacebars-pack-of-1/) but I'm not sure about ALPS mount, I could only find 6u for ALPS atm.

Very nice looking compact layout Bonk_Donk. I've seen a few 75% layouts that look pretty similar; not the same but close, I guess. Winkeyless's B.Mini, Duck Octagon 75%, Gons NS NerD MX-Mini, and Noppoo Choc Mini (Noppoo = Cherry or Gateron). Hand wiring seems to be the first step for most makers here. I hope to read your build log in the future if you do decide to stick with it :)
