Vortex Double-shot keycaps
« on: Thu, 08 December 2016, 13:18:03 »
Hey Guys,

I'm using a pok3r keyboard right now and I would like to upgrade to the double-shot keycaps they offer separately. Since good keycap sets mostly aren't that available in Europe I will have to pay a decent amount just for the caps. Now I was wondering; Can the custom double-shot vortex keycaps be considered an ''upgrade'' in comparison to stock pok3r keycaps? Is it true that they produce a heavier sound? I'm really looking for keycaps that make my keyboard sound less clicky and make the keystrokes produce a heavier ''thump''

Thanks

IIRC, Vortex PBT isn't much thicker than the pok3r caps but they ARE thicker.
Such artisan, many caps, very keyboard.

Always searching for Bro caps!

Umm, Pok3r caps *are* PBT and made by Vortex.

I have Poker 2 caps and two sets of PBT doubleshots, and they're the same thickness. The doubleshots only have a slightly smoother texture.

If they are made of the same material isn't PBT all supposed to be a bit rough?

No, it isn't. PBT is a material. Texture depends on the manufacturer's mold. PBT caps can be completely smooth to the point of being glossy.
