Heavier springs for alu caps. Any recommendations?
« on: Tue, 07 February 2017, 11:31:00 »
Hey good folks

I have some alu caps, an the weight offcourse makes the switch feel lighter.

I am trying to figure out which spring is best to replace with. I have gateron greens & cherry clears. I would like to find a spring more heavier than the one in the gat greens.

Any recommondations? :)

Keep in mind that a standard ABS cap weighs between .75 and 1.5 grams. I don't know how heavy your aluminum caps are but the ones I made were about 3.5g. With that in mind, you probably don't have to increase spring resistance that much.

Ok cool, did you up the spring strength? or what switches are you using them with?

Isn't that lighter than the stock springs?

How would that even help?

in theory i guess the weight of the cap shouldn't matter for the actuation force, right? I don't know if it just me that thinks the spring feels lighter, hehe
