Beginner here - can't seem to find what I'm looking for?
« on: Fri, 09 March 2018, 07:11:24 »
Hello,

I'm quite new to the world of mechanical keyboards.
What Id like to make is a 65% (at least with arrows) with alps switches and if possible bluetooth.
I found a few things that would work but they were 60% boards, none with the arrows.

I have two Dell at102's, one at101, two Wang 725 and an Apple AEK thats on its way to my home.

Is it possible to get something done with this?

Matias makes really good clone ALPS, if you are ok with a prebuilt. Otherwise LFKeyboards has a tkl alps pcb but you will need to find a compatible case.

Thanks for the tip. Id rather make one myself with 'real' alps.
I'll look into this more but it seems to be a good option!

You may be interested in the 60% Matias kit. You will be able to buy it without switches, I believe, so that you can use your own real ALPs switches, and it's a little different from the typical 60% because it has arrows and a nav cluster. The only issue is that it's been in development since 2014, so who know when it will see the light of day.

Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.

I thought this could work? Or am I missing something

The Matias kit is interesting, but indeed nobody knows when it will come out.
