The NIB that was sold Yesterday is not the same KBD, the seller's pics always look similar but if you check the Model number, they are different. Seems these M Spacesavers have doubled in value in less than half a Year. NIB price will probably go higher as the supply will eventually dwindle to out of stock. Hope these NIB will reach pass the $1k mark, with so many new people 'on the buy'. You are doing a good job, tyvm. :thumb:

If the winner had "pulled out", the listing may have been offered to the bidder who came out next best @ also $250.
Often outspoken, please forgive any cause for offense.
Thank you all in GH for reading.

The prices would drop, only if Unicomp started making them Space Savers again, when they offer it at about US$59 a piece.

Imagine the amount of money that they could make, i mean looking at all these crazy people bidding over the original Space Saver.

Unicomp is selling its Customizer for up to 6 times less than some people are willing to pay for a NIB Model M. Unicomp has no power over the NIB IBM market.

This seller, she list 1  NIB per Week. Question is when will these be out of stock, then it will become expensive.

Seller wants $59 for shipping? I've never seen it that high before.
I guess that's international, but its hard to tell by his/her wording.

Thanks!
There's almost a certain type of irony about that lol.

Pictures of my particular (ex-BON, ex-skcheng) mini are already on geekhack.

Wait, your mini came from Brian O'Neill?  I've heard he's a GREAT seller!

Indirectly, yeah it did.

It's a beautiful keyboard. Like I always did say, I had no doubt about the quality and condition of what he sells...and indeed, I've now seen proof that he's not selling junk.

I still wouldn't buy from him...product quality is one of the last things on the checklist of 'decision to buy from _______'. I'm thrilled with the keyboard and very happy that a) BON took good care in preparing it for sale and b) skcheng gave me the opportunity to own it, there is no lack of gratefulness here, but it's like me with KFC...I'll eat it and enjoy it, but not if my money is directly going into their register (because I disagree with certain things that happen in the live-chicken-to-fried-chicken process).

Kishy, you're young.   When you get older, you'll start to realize that life is too short to hold things against others.

It's up to you who you choose to spend your money on.  But imho, one less than positive experience isn't something to base your entire opinion upon.

But in any event, I'm very happy that you enjoy your keyboard.   It's a really nice one!!

skc.....not kfc.

The sure sign that Brian O'Neill has been there is if you open it up and see epoxied rivets.  Frankly, I think that's more cosmetic than anything but ya never know.  I won't be dropping one from a ladder so assume the best.

Funny, I just had it open examining that.

Depending on the type of adhesive...assuming something decent...it might actually be structurally significant.

However, the dabs over existing rivet heads are going to be 100% cosmetic; all it does is prevent you realizing when those rivets break.

This probably complicates an eventual bolt mod, but if it does what it might do, then a bolt mod may not be truly necessary for a long time either way.
