Fjell Classic Round 4

Price
Price $300 including a mirror polished brass plate of your choice(ISO or ANSI).

Extra plates will cost $26 per kit, extra plates without extra kits will cost $40.

Shipping

Updates

You will be able to completely remove the spacebar and middle mounting points. This is to ensure compability with hotswap PCBs, and for those that prefer a more flexible typing experience. The inserts will be made in brass or titanium, depending on results from factory testing.

Other updates:
slight mounting changes
slight USB hole changes

Launching in
June

FAQ

What is this case?
It is a tray mount case for 60 percent mechanical keyboards that follow the standarized Poker mounting. It has a weight of 2kg, or approx. 4.4 lbs.

Why $300 for a tray mount case?
This cost as much, or more to produce than most other 60% cases, tray mount or top mount. The beveled edges takes time to get right, the weight design is complex and the amount of material in this case is quite unique.

How does it sound?
Typing test by Taeha Types

When does it ship?
2 months after GB end

How many units will be available?
About 100 units.

How long will the GB stay open for?
Depending on how fast things sell, usually a week or two.

What is the difference between this and the ALF DC60 / Kbdfans 5 degree?
Everything is different, it is not comparable as a mechanical keyboard case.

Colors
Vote, and see.

It will be available on this following link:

Yes, it should fit fine.

Other PCBs that'll work:
Zeal60
GoN NERD60
GH60

I will compile a list of known PCBs in the OP later.

Looks great! Those removable mounts are really cool, even just from the standpoint that if you accidentally strip one of them they can just be swapped out without trying to retap.

Do you have a sample of the clear anodizing? Is it similar to the silver one?

It's exactly the same.

So its not actually clear? Clear ano would show off all the imperfections and markings from the manu process instead of covering them like a silver ano would.

It's probably going to make quite a difference between it actually being clear or actually being silver.

no offense, but that doesn't clarify what it is...

Is it a clear or a silver anodizing? Is it going to cover the imperfections or is it going to show them off? Clear is not the same as a silver.

Ok thank you, are you able to give any details about what separates the classic and the pro? I'm definitely going to be grabbing one, but I'd be hesitant to buy the classic in case the pro is more what I want..

Yes there are major differences, I'll write a proper explanation for you tonight! Major difference is top mount vs tray mount.

Clear is silver. Silver is clear.

Cases are sandblasted and cleaned before anodizing, and that's when tool marks are removed.

The Fjell in that popular Taeha video with GMK Oblivion...that's the black color, not grey, correct?

I hope black is available as an option regardless, can't really beat it compatibility wise. It works with nearly everything.

Originally I was going to wait for the Fjell Pro but it doesn't sound like that's coming out any time soon, so will definitely pick up a Classic. Excited.

I believe it was grey R1. But grey R1 is different from R2 or R3 i believe

Thanks, I probably should of read the video description as it says it right there.

My #1 choice is black but if for whatever reason it's not going to be an option, a nice dark grey would be a good substitute.

Some people have asked me if the R2, and later weight(top) is less difficult to manufacture than the R1 weight(bottom), and if it was done as a cost measure.

Not only is it really kind of similar, it has more material and more difficult machining.

Answer is, it is not cheaper to manufacture, it was done because I think it looks better and opens for more details on the weight.
