Keyboard: (Mass)Drop CTRL High-Profile

Regardless of switch or stabilizer, the same keys (R shift and spacebar) keep sticking when depressed. It either sticks completely and doesn’t come up at all or gets stuck about halfway up (see video: https://streamable.com/tfyd7). I really appreciate any help because I’ve sank like 4-5 hours troubleshooting this issue -- but please first read the following for what tests I’ve already done:

1. I have switched all the stabilizers (clip-on, plate, cherry) around within this keyboard AND even took the ones off my GMMK 60%, which confirmed work perfectly, into this one and still have the same issues
2. I’ve put the stabilizers FROM the CTRL to the GMMK and the GMMK had NO issues
3. I changed between different switches (gateron brown and retooled box jade) and still the same issues. I’ve tried pressing them down without the stabilizer and had no issues.
4. I’ve taking apart the stabilizers, making sure I securely put them in, etc. no dice
5. Now regarding keycaps. I have TWO sets of YMDK Cherry profile doubleshot PBT keycaps and both sets have the same problems with the above keys. I also have n Mod Keyboards ‘Classic Black’ from originative co and the same exact problem (R shift, space). Finally, out of desperation I bought the actual CTRL keycaps from mechmarket and the spacebar was sticking (this is where I lost my ****)
6. Now here’s the real head scratcher. What does work? For some effing reason the ABS keycaps from the GMMK, the PBT keycaps from my Ducky Shine 7 OEM work with no issues!

I think I can safely say that is NOT the switch and it is NOT the stabilizer itself. I thought it was the keycaps but there’s no way I had that many ‘bad’ caps of the same exact key (R shift, spacebar) from multiple sets.

Working theory: I think the hole where you mount the stabilizer is ever so slightly off target/angle causing the stabilizer to be too close/far or misaligned such that when the keycap is on both stabs, it doesn’t allow for it to come all the way back up. The keycaps that do work may just be within margin of error to allow for smooth travel

Please let me know what thoughts you have to resolve this issue. I feel like I wasted a lot of money and time or will have to live with the fact that I can only unpredictably use certain keycaps while using this board.

Contact Massdrop. Their CTRL and ALT keyboards have had many problems.

What switch are you using?
