The philosophy behind it is to accentuate keys without being "in your face" about it. It is a subtle change in hue, all the while adding character and charm to the set.
The reasoning behind these specific keys might seem random, but in my head it isn't (not so sure if others agree yet). Basically, I want to accent locations that will always be in use, while keeping some form of structure, all the while straying away from the "standard" positions - it left me with the two keys right of space as well as tab and caps. These positions have a nice asymmetrical symmetry, if that makes any sense.

Alright, so I tinkered with the kits - and in order to offer 40s, I decided to remove the spacebar kit. Please offer some feedback on the final kits:

Basekit:
Changes: Swapped out ISO R3 key for ISO Nordic '* in order to remove a key from the nordeuk kit.


Numpad kit:
Changes: removed the spacebar kit and moved the split spacebars + alice B to the 40s kit


Nordeuk kit:


Accent kit:
Concious decision to keep the purple accents in the base, it's "THE ARTISTIC VISION" for firefly. Sorry for being stubborn


40s kit:
I know nothing about 40s, this kit is made through research from other 40s kits like peaches n cream


Icon kit:


Let me know if you have any feedback! I am satisfied with these besides the 40s, and will invoice GMK soon unless changes are made.

I have ordered RAL samples to confirm the colors prior to moving into the GB. I want to confirm the colors in person as well, to avoid any unecessary delays once GB hits.

Experimented with all the colors as accents and peach is the only one that works. Trust me, purple and the lighter blue definitely didn't work. 😂

Lovely set. As some others have pointed out, I'd also like to have standard colors for the \ | key and `~ key.
Accent keys look fine to me, but I'd love to see the spacebar in pink as well if that doesn't add too much cost to the kit :>

bracket keys are a little odd-looking and smushed together nevermind! saw the most recent render and they look perfect.

Thank you! I hope it is great in person too, still waiting on the RALs I ordered. They were available only as "back order", which means they order it on demand to themselves, and then it is shipped to me (not in stock ccontinuously). We'll see!

Received the RAL samples. In some lighting they look good and close, but in normal warm temperature lighting indoors it's a shade or so off from what I want it to be.

Sun had already set when I looked, so I'll have a better look tomorrow in some more lighting conditions. I will also ask my colleague to take some properly white balanced shots for me in indirect outdoors lighting and we'll see.

In any case, the end result will be close to the renders, even though looking at something at a screen and IRL will always be different. I won't accept  colors which are off.

Yes, sorry. It was part of the process and I did consider it, but ultimately it would result in too many keys. It means I'd have to have duplicates in the NorDeUK-kit as well as pipeslash.

RAL samples, outdoors and in an office setting:




5011-p and the peach will need some tweaking together with GMK. They are not quite like I had expected, but there are no closer RALs as I ordered multiple shades of the same color just in case.

Set will look close to the renders, regardless of what the RAL code might be in the end.
