XsPhat comes and goes.  He has been gone for long stretches in the past.  He'll be back.  He did sell off his HHKB, so it seems that he has given up on keyboards a la Welly.

Against your will?!? What? Are you pissed that it's not New York? Chicago is a killer place to take a vacation... unless you're touring the wrong side of the L tracks... or if you're driving. Then it's the wrong kind of killer. Chicago drivers are the craziest... polite, but ****ing nuts on scary nuts.

Review a hot dog while you're there... preferably one that's HOT.

Portillos has some great dogs.  The beer selection sucks, though.  Old Style and PBR just don't do it for me.

I readily concede chicago's food beats ny's food hands down.  You can walk into any random restaurant in chicago and chances are you'll have an excellent experience taste-wise. Not so in manhattan. It costs an arm and a leg to get a quality meal in nyc. The average ny bodega (or pizzeria) is greasy and fatty and somewhat bland.  Even upstate pizza is so much better than the city.

Didnt get to go to as many restaurants as I would have liked in chicago though. No time. Whirlwind 2 weeks visiting relatives, and glad to be finally back in my manhattan hovel. I dont usually have to leave home since nearly everyone i know passes thru new york sooner or later (and usually sleeps over). Thats the nice part of living in the center of the universe ;)
