Hey, since this is by SP, Iíll try my luck and ask: do you think thereís a chance of getting one-off keys produced with custom legends? Iíd kill for 2x 1.5 u shift keys on row 4 (bottom row) profile.

Questions:

-Break numpad out? due to SP's lower MOQs per kit it would likely be made regardless.
-Full on international kit?
-ISO UK good enough?
-Any keys in the 40s/small kit needed?

I'd be down for all three kits if there was Minivan support. As far as I can tell all that's needed is R2 1.75 backspace and R3 1.5 enter in the 40s kit.

Quick question on this, would the ISO enter stem be oriented vertically or horizontally? That's the one catch I struggle with when sourcing ISO Alps keycaps, since mine is mounted vertically.

emailed SP the other day re: the mounts, stabs etc. to see what's available. it would be idea to offer a set of alps and mx mount mods separately to accommodate everyone.

I think about this set every now and then and get excited. I am a fan of the idea of the mx mods to make it easier for everyone. The Alps Throwback Keycap set had these (alps middle stem and mx outer stem) so you don't have to find alps stabilizers. Plates though are tough to come by that are made for alps but still keep the same cutouts for the mx stabilizers.

Design your own! I posted some in the DCS Yuri thread. Costs about Ä60 to get them made by laserboost.

Really interesting.

I've been working on a DCS PBT Dyesubbed set from SP myself. Drop me a message if you're up for chatting.
Would love to see another Alps set hit the market but dont want to interfere with another GB as we all know how hard Alps caps GBs can be.

hey everyone

so I talked to SP. here are the updates:

- they only have MX stabilizer stem, Alps switch stem caps. so there won't be any option for Alps/Costar stab inserts.
- pricing seems good, a base kit would be about ~$120 USD.
- regarding legends, I have to pretty much hand-pick these so it will go one of two ways: either the Cherry style like DCS Midnight or the Wyse style like their "black & white" set. Either one would be cool IMO, sort of leaning towards the Cherry style but that's just me.

Latest kits:

x2. My inner back-seat designer is leaning cherry as well.

I'm fine with either legend, mild pref for cherry as Yuri ran with WYSE. Would be nice to try both.

Still pining for some more blanks though, two of each row!

I prefer Cherry too, I like the font being a bit easier to read, and also the Wyse legends have 'Back Space' not 'Backspace'.

Can you make sure that these caps use the 1Z tooling for the stems? There was some info about it on the DCS Yuri GB post, but this post shows the difference: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=94727.msg2592093#msg2592093

1Z it is. SP also prefers them.

I was also told to mention that the stab stems can be somewhat fragile/brittle, so it may not be recommended to remove/install the keycaps often. I'll include this as a disclaimer during the buy, etc.

I love SP.  Only company that can get away with this.  "Yeah we know our product is crap but we're the only game in town".  I'm in for 2 of everything.

I can be late, but don't you mind to add second R3 1.5U key? Like Meta, Control or Tab. It's useful for some (maybe even one) rare 40% boards with non-usual staggering.

Icon mods would be sick but I'd be down for 2 sets cherry style if that's the final choice.

Late to the game here, but I'm in for a set. I've resigned myself to needing to custom order a plate for my build, and would kind of prefer Cherry-style stabilizers anyway.

is that a 7u bar?
Has something changed with Signature Plastics over the past few years as so far i havent seen a 7U alps mount bar with MX stabs in DCS that isnt 100% ****ed.

I have DCS Alps Throwback and Yuri, and both of those 7U spacebars work flawlessly. I had Alpine Winter and the 7U space was junk. The only way I could use it is by making a custom plate and using a Costar stabilizer on the spacebar.

Iím in. Maybe 2x.
As a latecomer to the Alps thing, I jumped on Alps Yuri just to get an Alps set. TBH, I donít particularly like the Yuri colours (I may sell my 2x sets as soon as I have something else in hand), but Alps Yuriís better than nothing.
Alps WoB looks great!
Model M Industrial, SSK, Unicomp 104, Code TKL MX Green, FC660M MX Green + Clear + White + Grey, FC660C Topre 45g, MagicForce 68 USB and Bluetooth, Whitefox, some optical switch 65% Bluetooth split spacebar thing ... wait, I think I need an intervention. Too late, thereís a couple of new Model Fs on the way.
Too much SA is never enough.
