Thoughts on R0/R5? Feels like it would help differentiate it from Round 1.

Just briefly skimmed the thread so not sure if this has been asked, but can you please label the bars in the l extra straw kit? Thanks!

Strongly agree with the suggestion above to have R0/R5 too!

Also, would be great if there could be a larger novelty pack, similar to GMK Carbon R2 with the full Function row having many icon options.

Really hope no R0/R5... I really hate how they look, and R0 is so god damn uncomfortable to type on.

A bit of a personal request, but how about a stepped Fn key? I don't like to double up on control keys, but I never use caps lock on that key either.
I long for the day when I find a beamspring. (At a not insane price)

May I know what conditions would necessitate typing on R0? Surely pressing Function keys would likely be one-off typing events, for use during gaming or application specific use-cases.

Aesthetically, I find R0/R5 to be very nice, especially for compact 75% layouts like the Singa, Xeno and [IC] Dawn.

YES Please! I began the keyboard hobby a good time after GMK Taro was run. I always wanted to get it as I love purple, but I didn't love the aftermarket prices.

I'm not sure about others, but I'm not feeling the 40's kit. Maybe a render would prove me wrong, but I can't see the alphas and blanks looking good on a staggered 40.

YES.

On a serious note though, any chance we get smaller spacebars in dark purple?
I like that the boba alpha kit includes a second B for alice layouts but doesn't include the spacebars needed for that layout.

Hello!
My name is Peter and I am the creator of Mechfashion - custom printed sleeves. (mechfashion.com)

Recently, one clacker asked me to create a sleeve for his keyboard with GMK Taro keycap set.  :)

Could you please tell me if you would be willing to share a picture you used for the front of the box? https://i.imgur.com/74LAVmD.jpg
We would really appreciate it, how we could return you a favor?

Thank you so much,

I like the ergo kit with blanks a lot here… this satisfies so many more board scenarios and looks better, at least with GMK.

Couple requests for Ergo/Ortho/40:

• Additional (1) R3 1.25 (2 total) for Dimple, UT47/Gnap!, and another board I'm forgetting the name of…
• Additional (1) R4 1.75 (2 total) for Dimple (and probably others)… seems like too many R4 1.5 keys maybe?

Very cool!

I'm happy about the assembly kit and dark alphas. I'll probably get a couple of these. I'm sad there's no colevrak kit (but I understand).

Thank you for running this!

The amount of R4 1.5u should be just enough to fill out a tsangan-bottom (1.5/1/1.5/7/1.5/1/1.5) Boardwalk

Ah, yes, that is true… that's such a nice layout BTW, might need another Boardwalk for that layout… and it's looking like this is the set that can handle it!

Speaking of the Boardwalk, there are other layouts that use (2) 2u spacebars (which my board uses), right now we only get one of each color, which would look unbalanced. Would it be possible to get 2 that match?, either color is fine.

Still would love the other keys mentioned earlier if possible… these kits are challenging, but really liking where this one is heading.

Can you confirm that the 1.25u keys in the extra straws kit will be convex instead of the regular r4 molds? GMK does have the convex molds for them now.

Right now what I'm thinking is I want to keep uniform f row in the base kit.

But I'll play around with offering an alternating stripe in either one of the child kits or on its own.

That sound like a great compromise, and allows more people to choose the options they want.

Updated the OP y'all, decent amount of changes.

Got some keys added to the ergo kit, modified some legends in the base/boba alpha kits, tweaked the spacebars, and last but certainly not least, added some renders utilizing the ergo/ortho/40s kit showing (I think) just how good those blank mods can look!

+1 The r2 backspace being the only icon mod in the set feels super out of place.

After seeing the 40s/Ergo renders, I'd like to see legends on the mods except for the Ergo/Boardwalk 1.5u mods. The Sebright esp. looks weird with all the blanks and the staggered profile, but perhaps that's just me.

I know I'm a bit of a homer, but I am such a huge fan of blank mods. I already love Taro, and I think, similar to SA Leviathan, that blank mods are a cool look.

Really, the main factor for me is price. Blank kits like this give a quality option for smaller "underserved" board sizes the opportunity to be covered without us having to sell a kidney. I'm never happy with the legends provided as my layout is just weird in general, so having blanks is the best possible compromise between cost and coverage.

I know that might be the unpopular opinion, and I honestly had no input on the creation or promotion of these kits. I just think it's a good option for people with boards that need the caps but balk at paying a full GMK for them :D

Price is def. a concern.

I think for the legend problem, pwade3 could do what Oblotzky and T0mbry have done with their assembly kits. The legends are the non-traditional type, legend agnostic, so you don't have to worry about mis-matched legends. Look at Carbon and Calm Depths assembly. I actually prefer those over the traditional ones.

The problem there is, I think this set has a fairly clear theme. One which, personally, I don't think the 'git' legends really cohere with.

Were I able to think of on-theme novelty text legends, I might consider it, but that brings it back to the pricing concern with funding so many new molds.

100% in for ergo and extra straws (plus novelties). Also, please keep the Ergo/Ortho/40s kit's mods blank; they look so clean and, as already stated, that will help keep prices down.
