Eager to meet you all!
« on: Mon, 16 September 2019, 18:34:08 »
Hi all!

Last Spring I was really into the idea of making a keyboard, and I followed this and other forums almost obsessively.  Over the Summer I kind of lost interest- I was trying to get a job and my K120 was more than good enough.  Ironically enough now that school's started up again I'm back.  If you ever saw the posts on Reddit about casting a keyboard case in bronze that was me.  I still want to do that, I'm planning on using my Logitech until I can pull that off.  I love seeing all the cool stuff you guys make, which is part of the reason I'm writing this out!

I'm a major Tolkien nut, and especially love his unpublished works.  I live out in the country, and I love nature as much as I hate cities and modern life "high tech" in general.  (with the obvious exception of computers and keyboards lol.  Also no offense to anyone who likes that sort of thing)   My favorite video games are Arma 3 and Squad.  I'm thinking about getting into Post Scriptum as well.  I like a good metroidvania as well, I enjoyed Hollow Knight.

I'm a bit of a privacy nut, (which is totally why I'm typing out a character sketch on the internet...) and I like to think I'm ethical in what software I use/companies I support.  To that end I use Linux, Arch in particular.  (I really shouldn't be using Arch, I used a video to help install it lol)

I read a lot of older books, in particular from the late 1800s to the mid 1900's.  I like Tolkien, Chesterton, Tarkington, and Wodehouse in particular.

On the flip side I'm a bit of a gun nut.  I'm also waaaay too into Airsoft, and most of my time and money goes towards feeding that addiction.  (Hence the lack of keyboards)  To that end I  like to collect camouflage.
At the moment I work part time in a foundry.

Finally I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which is the reason why I want to go all in for my first MK.
