I've been a Massdrop member for a while, hooked on watches and quality leather watch straps, with the occasional Victorinox knife purchase, and various other baubles that I see that catch my eye..... I literally throw my money at them sometimes......
Soooooo.... about 3 weeks ago, MD started including links to keycaps and keyboards on my daily e-mails. Then, I knew nothing about them, sort of. I do know that way back in the day, I loved the feel of the IBM keyboard I used to use at work (model F?). I figured it had something "special" going on and I started putting 2 and 2 together.
Long story short --- on 1 Sep, I was completely in the dark with Mechanical Keyboards. By next week, I'll have two 96% keyboards with QMK software and my own keymap for them (one ordered as a complete, one as a complete DIY hot-swap that I will assemble myself), and a 60% hot-swap DIY, 4 sets of keycaps, Kailh Blues, Gateron Greens and Blues (plus extras to keep swapping things around), extra plates, my eye on some 75% keyboards, and probably a full size........ Now to start checking out stabilizers and lubes and cases and more PCBs -- because of course, the best combination is out there and I must find it soon!
Another hobby/obsession, just what I need!!
