Thanks, guys, for your passive assistance last week.
My Logitech G15's left "Ctrl" key is finally not registering 100% of the time. I have been telling myself for about a year that when this keyboard finally starts to quit, I would treat myself to a really nice keyboard. I'm 100% sure that I'm preaching to the choir, but with the amount of time I spend in front of a computer at both work and here at home, I feel a few hundred dollars, if necessary, is quite reasonable.
After digging up as much information as I could about the Cherry switches (my final decision was with which specific switch to go), I ended up choosing the Cherry Blue mechanism. They seem to be a nice, middle-ground switch for both gaming and typing (I do TONS of both). So, I ended up ordering the quite snazzy looking
Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless Tactile Click "Otaku" from EliteKeyboards. It should be here this coming Tuesday. I'm pretty excited to get it.
I feel I'm at the beginning of a dangerous road. I have already started thinking about picking up another Filco to use at work (
Code Monkey like Tab and Mt. Dew!) if I find myself really enjoying this purchase. The HHKB is also on the list of potential work keyboards. I have wanted one since I saw it. I ran across one on the Net a year or so back and was instantly smitten. I finally found out what it was while researching mechanical keyboards last week. The layout is intriguing. And they key texture is pretty good from what I've read. I am also in an office environment; that makes typing noise a concern. The Cherry Blue switches would be out of the question.
Anyway, just wanted to drop off my thanks for the quality information that you guys provide. I'm not very good at posting anywhere but a few select forums, but I expect to keep this one on my list of forums to lurk due to the quality content.
