New Zandas = ORQUIDEOS
« on: Sun, 03 November 2019, 09:11:37 »
Hi Mech-People!

In my way to find the personal endgame switch, I prove and broke so many stuffs. But now I think I have to share this new switch that is not other than a Zandas (Zealios+Pandas) with some changes inside.

The first think I have to keep in mind is that the YOK Pandas have a really good housing and even them colours. That's a good point to start for the good looking/performance in this switch. I choose the YOK Panda Red:

The good thing of ZANDAS is the Zealios Stem. This one has a very pronounced curve in the ramp, near to the top giving a non-Pretravel. Very similar to the Halo stem.

It's easy the combination to build a Zanda, but one thing that I noticed and I didn't like it is this combination has a little inconsistence on pre and post-travel. That's because of the combination between stem and tactile leaf on the Zealios and for that reason i've decided to change this leaf and prove it in many combination of springs and lubing. We can notice that the tactile leafs on the Zealios are wider and more pronounced.

This build with some Krytox 205g0 in specific areas, made this switch so confortable to type for me.

The process of lubing was real simple. Some lube in the spring and lateral rail of the buttom housing, the sides of the stem, inside the stick and just a tiny brushstroke on the ramp. I lubed the lateral rail on the top housing for reduce the upstroke sound/feel.

I choose the 67gr Zealios spring because the 78gr has less feedback in the end of the stroke.

I present you the ORQUIDEOS, referring to the orchids due to its color and leaf change  :D
