FPGA-based IBM Wheelwriter Option
« on: Sun, 03 November 2019, 21:31:20 »

Hi,

I just uploaded a small FPGA project to GitHub which allows us to control an IBM Wheelwriter via a serial terminal.

Here's a short demo on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8gCYw75E1A&feature=youtu.be
And my blog:  https://microcorelabs.wordpress.com/2019/11/03/ibm-wheelwriter-printer-option/
And the code on GitHub:  https://github.com/MicroCoreLabs/Projects

Enjoy!

I can't think of a reason to actually use this but I'm impressed that it works, surprisingly fast too.

Shown in the video, the general use case is for texting Chuck Norris jokes to your friends. ;)
