XD75: Do I need the plate?
« on: Fri, 15 November 2019, 08:34:23 »
Hi,

I want to build a XD75 keyboard, most likely getting the parts from KPRepublic. I noticed that they offer several cases as well as just a loose plate. The pictures of the cases looks like they already have the cutouts for the switches, so I wonder whether it's necessary to also buy the plate? Or is the plate just for people who want to use their own case?

The plate: https://kprepublic.com/collections/xd75/products/stainless-steel-plate-for-xd75re-60-custom-keyboard-mechanical-keyboard-plate-support-xd75re

One of the cases: https://kprepublic.com/collections/xd75/products/stainless-steel-bent-plate-case-for-xd75re-60-custom-keyboard-enclosed-case

Thanks!

If you buy the case you linked in the original post then you do not need to buy a switch plate to go along with it. This particular design incorporates the plate into the case.
