Cherry Brown keyboard for like, $60?
« on: Sat, 12 June 2010, 04:34:18 »
Does a good keyboard exist in such an amount of money?  Basically, I need a keyboard for school in the fall (I'd hate myself if I had to type essays on my laptop's keyboard), so I've been looking into finding a new keyboard.  I'm currently typing on/been using for a while a Unicomp.  I know these bad boys are weighted heavily and that Cherry Browns are know to be light (correct?), but I feel like I could adapt to this transition (plus I'd also like a keyboard that's a bit more quiet and smaller).  That and it looks like Cherry Blues are loud, and I don't think that would cope too well with my new environment...

I have been looking over at Filco, except I really don't want to spend ~$110 on a keyboard...although I feel like I might, just because they look awesome (unless someone wants to suggest to me something great at my price range...)

Oh and off-topic, but, the only difference between the Tactile Touch and the Tactile Touch NKRO is the latter has N-key Rollover, and since it only works on PS/2, it won't make a bit of difference to me? (since my laptop doesn't have a PS/2 plug).

Anywho, thanks to anyone who throws me a bone, and I'll really appreciate it.

The difference is definitly there. You get 6KRO with a USB and it is still good enough for virtually every typist. With non NKRO keyboards you usually get 2KRO which can be somehow restrictive in certain situations.

Brown cherrys for 60$? Only used off Ebay IMO.

The mx11800 is a good board for someone that wants cherry browns at a good price.  They occasionally pop up here for sale as well.  Keep your eyes open and you could find a great deal on one.

Ha! I guerilla martketing backfired, produced mediocre reviews for dfree boards, and that's why Jeffrrey stopped hanging around with us?

(BTW I got a response from iRocks last week. Jeffrey is no longer with iRocks and the Cherry red iRocks isn't available to a USA buyer even if he claims to know Jeffrey.)

Jeffrey got fired for giving free keyboards to Geekhack?  Jeez, it's not like this is 4chan or anything.

That all depends on whether or not ripster has found the thread.
