Hi,

I have just replaced the keycaps on my Filco Majestouch 2 keboard with a full replacement set of doubleshot keycaps bought from the keyboard company. The click noise and tactile feel of the MX blue switches seems to have diminished and I preferred the original feel and sound.

I noticed the replacement keycaps were slightly taller thnt the original kepcaps. Is there an explanation as to why the slightly taller replacement set of keycaps could diminish the tactile feel and click of the blue switches, possibly bottoming out on pressing?

Thx for any help

Heavier keycaps do tend to "muffle" or "mute" both the feel & sound. Your stock caps are thin ABS and your new ones are probably heavier & thicker. You could try Tai Hao doubleshot ABS caps. They are higher quality than the stock caps but are still fairly thin & light and should seem pretty close to the stock caps. Tai Hao sets are available in many different color schemes and generally don't cost a whole lot.

Another option would be to have a set made by WASD keyboards in your choice of colors & markings. Same deal here - higher quality than the stock caps but still fairly thin & light to let the switch feel & sound come through.
