T1 Switches, Durock, and the Stealios Controversy

Hey all,

Recently, as part of wanting to expand upon my switch collection and share some of the knowledge that I've accumulated over the last year of collecting, I began writing new switch reviews and plan on writing further documentation surrounding new and interesting switches as time progresses.

While I currently only have two new switch reviews completed, I just finished a thorough, from the top history of T1 switches, Durock, and all the associated drama surrounding the company as we are nearing roughly a year since the initial Stealios controversy.

Since it is a 21 page document with a tad shy of 7000 words, I will simply link the Google Drive folder where I will be keeping all of my documentation from here on out, and will let people view it whenever they have a chance. Your summary of the stealios drama is fascinating reading. It demonstrates why pricing a switch over 5 dollars each is so insane. This stratospheric pricing strategy is the incentive for others to try profiting as well. It is not surprising that a gold mine like this attracts many parties. The controversy is about money, not intellectual property. Rights for switch design have ended already. The mechanical keyboard market is so flexible to pricing that this will not be the last time we see people trying to profit in it.
