Get your bintin hats on for what looks like an IBM AT Model F on eBay Germany. A nice item for the Euro boys to bint on, €1 to start at and the vendor ships throughout Europe. The vendor states it is in really good condition and comes with PS2 adaptor and tested working on modern PC's

The cat is out of the bag for all you binters who hoped this would be a secret steal !!

Bint On !!

I can have it shipped to a few places in Europe, but it won't let me bid since my primary address is in the USA.  Bummer.

There will be plenty "last minute binters" on this one, better set your last minute bints high just in case you do not make it and have no time to rebint.

This one will go for good money, it is being discussed on a few chat rooms.

What's it worth, it seems to be in real good condition, possibly €500 (500 yoyo's)

The last one I saw on eBay Germany went for some €60-70... how'd you come up with €500?

That is what my maximum bid will be IF I submit a "last minute bint". If anyone else also places a high "last minute bint" then eBay will automatically place the bids to the required level.

You often find "binters" who place a "last minute bint" that is much too high as they think it will secure the item for them. It can also go wrong if two or more "binters" are doing the same thing as it sends the final price much too high.

It is easy to pay by online bank transfer from one country to the next, you do not need to pay for electronic wire services any more, just a direct online account to account will do the job. Or, stuff a thick wad of Euros in an envelope and post it recorded delivery...... no excuses on the payment front.

If you want the board, you gotta take the risk that vendor sends it - simple as that.

This board looks like it has my name on it .......IF I place a bint.

Germans seem to have some thing against Paypal, a lot of the sellers refuse to take it.

As far as I'm concerned you really shouldn't be using eBay if you aren't using PayPal. It should be a straight-up requirement.

Edit: what I mean is sellers. Sellers should be required to accept PayPal...if the seller wants to offer other options as well that's their call. To motivate buyers to use their preferred method they could offer a discount for non-PayPal use or something.

Yeah, especially the german folk at refx.net. To order any of their products you can't use paypal. I think it's some fad in Germany to rage at paypal and direct people to "paypalsucks.com". I've never had any issues with it, so, it's all hot air.

Now we know what the angry german kid was angry at... paypal! His keyboard awfully looks like a KB-8923... I don't know why I keep thinking that.

I agree. Paypal makes things a lot safer too because no one can see your credit card or anything. So no one can do any dirty tricks. Also, the confirmation feature is nice... I guess...

Unlike in the US, bank wires are free and easy in Europe, so there's not really a need to pay Paypal fees. Most European ebay sellers are Germans. That's probably how you got that impression.

Why bother with PayPal when eBay.de allows bank transfer? No PayPal fees, more money for the seller and the money goes directly to your bank account. No fear from having your PayPal account limited or anything.
