dunno if anybody is up to it, but it might be worth it to have them as geekhack trial units to see if people like the F before they go in deep to find an AT version.

Shrink wrapping Buckling Springs is not a good idea...

On two-piece M keys, it's an exceptionally GOOD idea, assuming the wrapping is not tight enough to press the keys on the edges and other packing materials do not cause such a situation.

Well, supposedly when they depress, it becomes problematic.

Yeah I'd see it being a problem if keys were actuated and kept that way.

It's just a good way to help ensure keycaps don't get loose when dealing with 2-piece keys.

Consider that the type of situation in shipping where keycaps on 2 piece keys may be knocked free is also the type of situation which might break open an end of the box (meaning out go the peanuts AND the keycaps)

Doesn't apply to a Model F of course.

The Model F XT layout is still very difficult to use over the AT counterpart (Which still is fairly difficult).
SO even if you could get adapters for those keyboards, they'd require lots of learning.

Oh, and no arrow keys. And no F12 -- which is used by some my apps & games.
