Greetings
« on: Mon, 11 May 2020, 03:52:42 »
Hello Everyone,

I found this community when I started watching some youtube videos on making your own keyboard. I have always been a mechanical keyboard guy, but stayed with the generic gaming brands. After I had to get a keyboard due to the whole shutdown and WFH, I started actively researching/lurking in the past week or so and am extremely mad that I didnt find this place 1-2 months ago so I could join some of the awesome keyboard diy kit group buys.

Any advice on a 75-tkl layout keyboard diy kit. I like some KBDfans but they are always out of stock. Hotswap preferred but not required too. Or if there is a good 'gallery' or something along those lines? Looking forward to supporting everyone here =)

Hi karlb. Welcome to Geekhack.

I love Corsair's K65s and K70s, gaming brand or not.

Personally, I have only been drawn to the Heavy Metal Keyboards GB myself. Plenty of size and layout options. Steel cases. No hot swap though.

You get a lot more options moving down to the 60%-65% size, unfortunately. KPrepublic had a stainless TKL kit, and a stainless case available for it, but that looks to have been taken down.

I don't look into/watch much of that stuff either though.

What switches have you tried? Which do you like?

Hey Maledicted, thanks!

Yeah I have seen that, haha. Im now shooting for a 65% keyboard so I can use some functions to mimic the needed function row if I desire. Hoping to get in a group buy or get lucky on kbdfans.
