17-99, An Alice style 1800 Layout. Calling Designers
« on: Wed, 13 May 2020, 15:06:03 »
I'm hoping to prototype this board ASAP, after ironing out some kinks with the layout, I think I'm in a stage where I'd like to get the PCB on my desk and give it a whirl, if your a PCB designer I'd love to comission you, and if you have a laser cutter and 3mm acrylic, I'd love to commission a case. for those interested in assisting me in this project, either reply in this thread or message me on discord: Dr.Doof#7539
Thanks for reading!

I like the idea, good luck with finding someone to make it for you!

EDIT: Got inspired, what do you think of this? (kle link)

  • removed the left macro key column (from my experience with using alice-likes, they are not very comfortable to reach when holding your hands in the "ergonomic" rotation)
  • broke apart the F-key-clusters differently (not sure if I like this better, probably shouldn't use with accent colors)
  • Used a 1.25u iso lshift on the right side to tighten up the arrow cluster placement.
  • Placed the numpad one down to the correct rows
  • Moved over the Scroll lock & pause keys to the right (aesthetic reasons)

Only comment i have is the disparity between the left and right bezel. Trows me off quite a bit, if they were the same i believe it could work better.

Got me interested in an Alice layout for the first time!
