Have to agree on the SSD recommendation.  I've been enjoying my Intel x-25m g2 for some time now.  Worked out to about $2.80/GB at the time...you'd need to check with Anandtech or someone else that has followed the SSD market lately to figure out the best option currently...

I've got a 60GB OCZ Agility SSD. Not the best SSD on the block, but hey. I'm bucking the trend a bit, since I'm not booting from it. I've just put all my most intensive games on it, especially ones that take forever to load (like Dragon Age: Origins).

My DA:O level load times went from 10-20 seconds to 2 seconds. Booyah.
