Hi keyboard world!
I'm developper and I was looking to replace my current Logitech K760 used to work on my MacBook Pro. Yeah I know... membrane ^^° but it was quite good for working and it never run out of battery!
I already got a Corsair K65 Cherry MX Red for my gaming PC. Not bad for playing but I was really disappointed by the noise and the feeling, so it was a big "meh" for work with it.
First I was looking to get the Kemove 61 SnowFox but I'm French and on Mac so the layout was a stop to me.
Last solution, build one myself! And it's exactly why I'm here
After a week to read tons of stuff, search and look many vids, I've finally purchase a KBD75v2 with Gateron ink black switches.
I'm missing a case for now so if anyone has any suggestions, don't hesitate!
Oh and my English is really not perfect so ... sorry!
Hi Ferannor. Welcome to Geekhack. Those solar keyboards are an awesome idea, and Logitech is a great company, especially for wireless peripherals. Even their conventional wireless peripherals have phenomenal battery life.
Well, the K65 is a great choice if you ask me. That's one of my favorite keyboards. What was it that you didn't like about the noise and feel of MX reds? They're definitely not as smooth as say, Gaterons. It appears that that SnowFox is fully programmable, so you could swap the option/alt and command/windows keys through software I imagine. No idea if an AZERTY cap set is feasible though.
People seem to really love KBD products, so I imagine that's a great choice. I know I couldn't do without dedicated arrow keys myself, and am actually using a 75% board at this very moment. I have heard great things about Gateron ink blacks. I'm sure you'll love them.
It sounds like a lot of XD84 cases are compatible with that PCB, just going by Google searches. Unfortunately, 75% kits are not as common as 60%, and maybe even 40% kits, so options are not always the greatest. It might be helpful to post about it in the
Making Stuff Together! section of this forum asking about it. It will get more exposure there, and probably fits better there as well.
I could tell that you weren't a native English speaker, but you're certainly good enough with it to understand. Us native speakers are lucky that it has basically become the international language to begin with, we can't expect people from countries that don't speak it natively to have some perfect mastery of it.
