So I just bought (on eBay) one of their "Internet" keyboards. Translation: media keys included. It also uses USB instead of PS/2, and has a built-in hub. The model number is E05351U2HUB. Like many (all?) models new enough to include ErgoForce, it's made in China.
I was curious about Keytronic's "ErgoForce" technology, after seeing reviews and typing demonstrations on YouTube...But this keyboard (which is very mushy) does not feel or sound like the non-ErgoForce model (made in Mexico) that came with my first Windows 98 PC. It also doesn't sound at all like the other ErgoForce models I see on YouTube, which seem to be model E03601, and remind me very much of my old KeyTronic. Those don't seem very quiet....but a librarian would be very pleased with this model, which sounds as though it's been silenced...there's no real noise to speak of, clack or otherwise.
At least, I'm assuming this is ErgoForce technology. The box does not use the actual ErgoForce name. Instead, it says "With Key Tronic's Ergo Technology"
Did they have two separate "Ergo" technologies? I can't help but feel massively disappointed. I thought I at least knew what to expect in terms of sound.
