Back in 2013 I remember hearing about mechanical keyboards at a gaming convention and thinking they sounded cool, but I got overwhelmed just hearing about the different types of MX-brand switches and pretty quickly walked away.
Seven years later, COVID quarantine hit and I had way too much time available to browse r/mk and watch YouTube videos from the comfort of my work-from-home desk. I pretty immediately bought a Ducky One 2 Mini but was so impatient that I bought it with MX Speed Silvers because that's what was in stock. Turns out I actually like it a lot, but I have my heart set on several keycap sets that just look and sound like garbage with this flimsy case, so in the last week or so I've invested in the goods to make my own keeb with the Tofu 60% Aluminum.
Currently in the process of trying not to fall in love with too many more keycap sets because I'm not looking forward to falling down the rabbit hole and having one keyboard for each set.
