ca66 issues

I'm having issues with my brand new ca66 pcb - it switches on sometimes, but mostly not. When it does the leds are always red.
When it won't switch on the only way of getting it going (leds still red) is to shorten two legs on the cpu to somehow reset it.

I've tried to flash both a firmware from the original site and latest qmk, nothing seams to help the issue.

Before splitting the f-ing thing with an ax I though I should ask you guys.

my guess would be not enough power from the usb? is it on a hub? the mcu may not be able to initialize (boot) if the voltage of the bus drops or is unstable, maybe try plugging in a direct port if you are on a hub or into a powered hub

When the PCB is alive, does everything work properly?

I had a PCB for my CA66 that I thought was the original PCB, turns out it was the CAD66 that doesn't support QMK.

It's really wired, I actually have three different pcbs, Round 1, Round 2 normal and bt.

When it (sometimes) works I have a few keys that mostly don't work (9ol, and del & \), sometimes they work too so I just can't figure out what's going on.
Most of the times it boots up and it locks up after a little while, when it's connected to Windows I get a message about unknown usb device connected.

It really drives me mad to day the least...

if all 3 pcb do the same thing i would point at the windows install being the problem, or most other peoples would have the same issues as you have, or the cable that you are using having a bad connection somewhere if you have not tried changing the cable yet. basically try to change what you have not yet changed.

No no, it's just the round2 board that's having issues. I swapped over everything to my round1 pcb yesterday and that's working fine.

well i will trouble helping you further with that as i do not have experience with those boards
