Hi there!
I joined the "master race" last year when I made the move from Playstation 4 to PC (originally used Mac my whole life). My fiance helped me source the parts and build it, and I mostly use it for 3D work and gaming.
Just after SA went into lockdown (around March) I came across a post by The Verg on Instagram of TaehaTypes. I scoffed at first but something in this crazily expensive hobby makes sense. That wonder of building my first own computer was a great experience for me and I can imagine this is somewhat the same in building a keyboard? Being in South Africa makes it hard to get a hold of the parts needed to build a keyboard. I have been able to get a PCB from KBD Fans and will continue to buy parts throughout the coming months. But I want to make custom keyboards something that is accessible to other South Africans too.
So I have been learning what I can online to try and build an entire keyboard from scratch... No pressure!
