Bout to pull the trigger on the Anne Pro 2_ unsure which switch

I haven't bought a new board in years and i like this one.  Can't decide between the Box Brown and Gateron Browns.  I love the Gaterons but the Box Browns are kind of an unknown.
Box Burnt Orange were much too heavy, but I think I like the shorter travel distance.  Has anyone tried both?

Yes between these two choices i would go box brown all day. Box brown has its own problem like some can turn clicky but overall it is much better and more unique than gateron brown which is just a generic clone of mx brown (which is ****)

I think they're both amongst the best tactiles as close to the MX browns you're used to that you're going to find in an OEM board. I find the Gaterons to be a bit smoother out of the gate, but the tactile event is more rounded like traditional MX tactiles, whereas the box brown tactile event is higher and sharper.

Besides having to worry about box browns going clicky, there's no wrong choice there if you want a tactile that comes in an OEM board and is somewhat similar to MX. It comes down to preference.

Personally, I can't even feel the tactile event on MX browns unless I press them very slowly, otherwise it just feels like there's sand in the switch, so I don't know what your perception of that tactile event may be, and if you want as close as possible to that (Gateron, except smooth and you can actually feel a bump) or something a little sharper and a bit more tactile (box brown).

I would say Gateron if you are also gonna change the keycaps since it could be that they use old MX box switches that stretch keycaps.

Obviously there are fans for both sides.  I have several boards with gaterons and I'm probably buying more for another board. I think, but I'm not sure that I like the shorter travel distance of the Box Browns.  My only reservation is that I'm not replacing the switches because of the stupid LED's on the Anne Pro.  So what I buy I'm stuck with.  I'm buying the board chiefly for the wireless connection for work.

I'm sure I won't be unhappy with either choice, so I think I'll go for Box Browns.  Thanks for your input  fellas.

They only thing that I'll add is box switches are sometimes known damage certain keycaps, especially if made from a cheaper material, are thin, or ABS.  I've read several people complain about this, but I don't know to what extent it happens or why, but it's one more thing to look into to.  I really have been wanting to try Royal Purples, which are a box switch, but anyway.

The AP2 has solid keycaps, so I probably wont change them.  I'm not crazy about OEM profile, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure that that problem was resolved a long time ago now, maybe over a year ago. The old switches may still be in some warehouse, somewhere, but I don't think the odds of getting them can be that high anymore, especially since using them will just cause your company bad press. I have used them with thin ABS caps and thick PBT every day for many months now. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet.

Ok so the box break keycaps is a thing in the past, and abs keycaps are most susceptive to it. However Kailh did address the problem a while ago and their claim, as well as novel key, now is that the latest iteration of box switches don't have any problem with keycaps anymore. Having said that, im not so sure what version of box switch will OP anne pro have, there is always a possibility that the keyboard still come with v1. But yeah as long as you don't take the caps in and out too much and they are pbt, you would be fine.

Thanks for letting me know. I hadn't heard about the problem in a while, but I was about to buy a product a few weeks ago that discussed that it could be a possible issue, so I thought it was still a thing. Now I wish I'd bought that board.
