Can you clean topre sliders/plungers like how you would clean keycaps? (Soap and water or denture cleaners)

Probably. But do they really get dirty though? On the new HHKB models you're not even supposed to take them apart (voids the warranty).

I don't think you need to clean the plunger, but the sliders can get some dirt which affects their travel a bit. I just use a q tip and water to clean them out.

I've had good success by putting the keycaps in a laundry bag and leave it in the washer. Just remember do not ever put them in the dryer.
