Does anyone know the wire layout for RJ45 to ps/2? I am using an old ps/2 cord and the wiring on that end is easy enough but I am not sure where to put what for the RJ45 end.

Are you talking about an IBM Model M (SDL) connector (which AFAIK are NOT RJ45 but look similar) or something else?

I don't think there are established standards for these kinds of connectors. Model M types of different sub-models are generally interchangeable but other manufacturers may or may not use completely different wiring. So, well, please be more precise.

edit: RJ45 connectors have a single tab on the top, while model M connectors have a tab on each side.

I am talking like a cat5/6 connector. is there are any known standard for this conversion or am I just going to have to play with it? I picked up an Access Is board without a cable.

RJ45 is the name of a telephone standard that uses a 8P2C connector, but I suppose that your connector has more than two connected wires.

Are you sure the board puts out PS/2 compatible serial signals? If not you'll need something like a kbdbabel converter, not a simple wire->wire convertor. You should be able to look up its datasheet here.

There are a load of VT220 terminal keyboards at my work which I've had my eye on in the past (nice and clicky!) but they all use a unique protocol over a telephone-style connector.

Must be clones. The original DEC ones are the single worst keyboard to be unleashed on mankind.

I have laid out how the wires connect to the port keyboard side, but I am still at a loss as to what is what. the only wire that I am sure of is the ground (labeled scrn) but it looks like it shares a connection with the other black wire.

I flipped the bottom image so they line up the same.
