What sort of keys are on these boards and what is the build quality like? I live quite local to this eBay binter so could pop along and grab a couple?

The switches are cherry blacks, the keys are double shots, very good quality. If you are going to buy one...buy to Hoggy. I bought one to him. No problems.
Too many keyboards....

Cherry black switches.  Pretty study board.  The keycaps could be thicker, but at least they are double shots.  Detachable cable (needs a GOOD push).  Every key is programmable.  Plate mounted switches.  There's a review on the site here.

Go for it.  He's got the make offer button on the listing, so a pickup of 2 boards should be great leverage for a bargain.

@ hoggy.

Does the metal plate cause any problems in regard to opening the switches ? I'm too busy to have enough time de-soldering all the switches atm :frown:
Often outspoken, please forgive any cause for offense.
Thank you all in GH for reading.

Wow, those boards are made in Jolly Olde Englande! Very high quality indeed.
The layout is surprisingly compact too.
Detachable PS/2 cord is nice.

I got mine from Hoggy, *waves* cheers.

This board does use cherry blacks, but I must admit I am stunned as too how much I like them.
All my main boards are what I believe are called "Click Tactile" (ALPS blue & white, XM's and cherry blues) type with feedback via feel and noise, but these make no sound or feel unless you hit bottom, and I have no problem with that so far.

I have not pulled the backspace or spacebar yet, but they are much heaver switches, backspace even more so over space bar, so much so I am missing them out every now and then.

But I will give 10 out of 10 for the board at Hoggy's price point, hell 11.

Its a great board and I want another to pull apart and play with and keep this one for everyday, its like a tenkeyless board but with all of the keys, a bit like my Viglin but an inch shorter.

I offered 18 quid and then was going to do 20 but two others beat me to it at £20.

Hoggy if you have any more and there is no one else here that wants one (I already have one),
and I can some how justify the fifth new keyboard in less then 3 or 4 weeks...

Hopefully, those two boards might result in two new members...

I'll lay it aside for a week for you.  That should give you enough time to check out Microsoft Windows offer.   If you don't want it - no worries.

Microsoft Windows - if Lenny isn't interested...I might be.

Hell, I've bought seven in the same period - luckily for me I've sold a few too.

I wish keyboards would arrive in 'wife friendly' boxes.

I might have had a stroke of luck that came in the shape of a wooden column, or pillar sort of thing to put something like a plant pot on top of 'she WMBO' had delivered over the weekend.

So I have one 'point' to gamble with :juggle:

I must admit that I sort of missed M$W's offer of "ALPS tenkeyless keyboard." ...err sorry about that, but you must know I like ALPS boards, thats not fair.
I will send you a PM to keep it out of this and the thread clean, but I believe you are in the US yes ?,
its not long since I looked into something from that side of the pond with someone from here that was very helpful, but the cost of shipping was too much IMO.
What I did with javifast a bit back was the limit with shipping at almost two and a half times the cost of the board, I should have been smarter and had some of his other boards at the same time, but that was a very good deal for a board that was perfect for what I wanted.

If you are sure that is ok ?

I am planning to spend a bit of time looking into my money problems (not having enuff of it) today,
might even have to get some work done, and even drum up some more.

But its been a bit of a strong month all round with this place, and my Fountain Pen obsession all taking its toll on me with six more on the way as I speak and the "TWSBI Diamond 530 Fountain Pen" just come out at an unbelievable price that I cant say no to.

But I am sure you all understand ?
