In my search to resolve the issue of the bulky Blue Cube occupying my laptop USB slots. I found LINDY.

For more info of this adapter here is the linky to the "LINDY linky", when the eBay Listing expires.

I wonder if such a compact unit could have an active converter...

For a proven and compact converter, I'd suggest the Belkin PS/2 to USB adapter, which works with some things that the Blue Cube will not. It's one of the more expensive ones out there, but such is life.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see your link where you said it was tested by Webwit. Still, I wonder what the problem with it was.

I don't see the post where Webweb said he tested this specific LINDY adapter (there are two others in that article).  It look so small and it does say it's intended for a specific KVM and it's possible that this KVM notices when a PS/2 mouse or keyboard is attached and adjusts itself to handle PS/2 signals like other keyboards that support passive adapters.

I sure would like to see the vendor/device ID numbers from USB if anyone has this device and plugs it into a computer with no keyboard attached to it.

As for the USB connector, I have a few serial adapters and Bluetooth dongles that have the circuitry mounted on the rear and underside of the USB connector's edge connector.  It's so clever.

Webwit didn't specifically say which adapters, he left it vague for us to search and I cannot be sure this is his "teaser". Before I could ask him, he goes and fly away, maybe I'll be able to find him at KBDmania.
There are proven adapters, but I had wanted a small single PS/2 socket to USB and this seems ideal. I ordered a few from manufacturer's site and hopefully it will work without any niggling issues.

Edit: Just received them = Fail :frown:
