Okay! I can't take it any longer I gotta have the blues and I've decided to pull the trigger on the adesso cuz I like the volume buttons and the audio jacks more than the Filco keycaps fascinate me.   Anyone that has any info I ought to know about before I pull out the credit card they have until I finish watching the latest episode of "pretty little liars" on casttv right now to speak up - That leaves about 42 minutes to intervene if I am shooting myself in the foot...

(and I KNOW its a stupid show - REALLY stupid.  But pickins are slim in the summertime and my netflix acct is on hold till my new non-prepaid cc# arrives since they don't appear to accept any other form of payment at all - and the last 2 episodes got suddenly interesting for some reason...at least its more gripping than "Glee")

They have a similar style of keycap to the iOne Scorpius M10 that I have. I'm not fond of the keycap look, but I don't notice it at all once I start using it and I wouldn't care even if I did. I didn't read through all of your other thread, but it looks like you did your research so if the only thing you don't like about it is the look or shape of the keycaps, I'd say it's a good price for a Cherry Blue board.

The keys seem to be "sunken" a bit. Is that right? Some people can find this annoying when using the arrow keys.

It does look that way, doesn't it? I mean with the arrow keys. If so, that would be the same case as with the Scorpius M10. I do find it mildly irritating. It's something that makes the board feel cheap, but I can't say that it's something that I notice constantly after I get used to it a bit.

i hope you did not pay more than $70usd for it.

the legends are poorly applied, the keys probably need to be seated(mine did).
otherwise it is worth $70 but no way $100.

Trigger pulled.  Find out in a couple days if I hit the target or end up hopping around like Yosemite Sam!  

Whew! That's it then... I think at last I have exhausted the list of switches now that held potential interest for me.  As the stragglers trickle in through the mail,  the burning fires of curiosity can now ignite the flames of passion instead.   I'll have a list of stuff to stick in the sig with a proper opinion on each and maybe I can get a geekhack keycap to crown my favorite so I can start to look more authoritative around here... I think the system ought to auto detect that moment of ultimate geekiness to grant "Senior Member" status.  You know, when the first Quest is complete and finally I can start gathering all the boards into a pile that I can sit  atop like Gollum and say "My Preciousessssssssssss....."  (heheh - It is my birthday in a couple weeks, too.)

Comparative analysis begins once I have received everything that is currently en route- I'll post a poll of the list to decide the first review candidate.

What have you bought so far? I can see my experience in your experience. I had "a list of switches" I wanted to try, and no matter how many videos I watched on YouTube, how many audio clips I listened to and how many opinions I got, I just had to try them to know for myself. You would think that I have exhausted my list, but no...I still want to try a plate-mounted blue Cherry keyboard and clicky real ALPS keyboard.

You'll have a nice collection to rotate. I like to rotate. For a while, for the past few months it was brown Cherry Filco at work and Topre at home. Then, it changed to brown Cherry at home and blue Cherry at work. There are times when even the Topre just does not do it. This is for when I don't want a soft landing.

One of the reasons I feel so comfy here is that I seem to have found a group of folks that oddly enough, are as odd as I am in many different ways I can relate to.  Kindred spirits I suppose.

I'll take inventory tonight, but  it may take awhile.... =D

The adesso?  Buy.com (via ebay, since I get ebucks back)  71.74 + tax (CA) shipping for free (7-10 day) 4.99 standard (3-5) or @5.50 (2-day).  I went with the 2 day for at total just under 85 bucks... but the link on the first page of the blue cherry thread had a total of about 78 bucks shipped from B& H photo or something....

I almost went with the Adesso but went with the Filco instead. IMO, I think Filco's have better build quality but for people looking for an affordable blue cherry switch mechcanical keyboard, the MKB-135B is a smart investment.

Correct me if I'm wrong. The MKB-135B comes with a PS/2 connector by default but also comes with a USB adapter, right?

Now that I have returned my Das, I was thinking about getting this keyboard since it's also plate-mounted, but the PS/2 connector is what bothering me.  It's most likely that I'll never buy a PC as my primary computer again. I may built a budget one here and there, but it will be a secondary computer. Laptops don't come with PS/2 ports anymore. These days are long gone.

Microcenter will match provantage on these- at least they did for me in their Chicago suburbs store.  But....  The keyboard just feels cheap to me.  I took it back and ordered two filco browns from elite keyboards and I am very happy I did.  The quality difference is huge.

yea, the cord is actually a little untidy if you don't plug everything in since it forks at the end into 4 plugs : mic, audio, ps2/with usb adapter dongle, and usb (for the hub throughput.)  It is a six inch type of dongle with the cord in the middle rather than the one piece and fits snug enough that you have to give it a pretty decent tug to remove the usb adapter part. I suppose if you found it really annoying to have a lot of bulk on the end you could trim off the extra bits if you don't use em, but I like the options.    Although, i suppose I ought to test it out more thoroughly as I am not sure if my Expert mouse actually doesn't work through the hub on it, or if I didn't plug in the hub part on the back end.  I've been at my mom's since yesterday, so I haven't got it now to check.

Yeah, but so is the price -especially with NKRO.  I am wondering if there is much difference in actual typing feel or if blues are blues for the most part.  Now that I know I love the switch I might consider quality build for longevity but I don't know if the gap in cost is worth it for the Filco, and I would have to give up the media features I like so much.  Honestly I think were it not for those I would have erred on the side of overspending for the reputation of the Filco against the unknown, but i think I'd rather have two of the Adesso in case one breaks than one Filco.  ( I think I'd have to type on one first, though before swearing that in blood.)

the legends on this board are probably the least durable of any of the cherry switch boards. otherwise i like it. i actually like the ps2/usb plug the way they did it. since i am hardcore and use ps2. microcenter went $55 for me but i must mention i know the store manager at one location. really this board is not worth more than $70.

I think I'll wait before ordering one of these. I will check one of the TigerDirect store since they do have B&M stores and some are not too far away from where I live.

I don't think I ever effectively tested the MKB-135B NKRO support in my review.
If anyone has actually tested it "properly" both using USB and direct PS/2 feel free to update us, since I'm pretty sure my test results were inconclusive based on the feedback I got on the review and my other posts concerning this keyboard.

Oh, and I don't have it anymore.  I returned it due to the shift key not working.  Honestly, I would have exchanged it but the vendor was out of stock.
