I find that there are often good reasons to open things as they arrive.

-Switches: to lube them so they're ready to use when the rest arrives
-Keycaps: to check the quality of legends and/or warping
-PCB: to make sure that it's not DOA
-Case: qc can be spotty with GBs

Don't want to sit on a package for months to find out that I've missed the return-by date.

This stuff takes so long to get in with international shipping that you want to check each delivery as soon as possible, to make sure that nothing is missing.

Imaging waiting for 3 months for the final bit to come in, only to discover that you're missing a single keycap, or one of the stabs is the wrong length.

I always check parts as they arrive to ensure it is what I ordered and if there are further steps that need to be take, I can take care of them before it's too late or as mentioned pre-lubing/filming switches so I'm not doing it when I'm putting it together.
